Finished Sleeping Pavillion

August 24th, 2011 by KTU | Filed under 3. Finished Pavilion, Montana Sleeping Pavilion.

Here are some photos of the finished pavilion. I just spent a week there. It worked beautifully. Everyone loves it.

View of pavilion from main cabin deck.

Pavilion from the shore of the lake.

From rear showing "amenity hut" (shower, sink, composting toilet)

View from the "office" on the deck. (Reasonable 3G connectivity from here, allowing some morning work.) The main design change in process was to put another level of deck off the front so we wouldn't have to spoil the view with a railing. Good call.

Roof framing details.

Exposed rafters (select structural 2x12s) with AB plywood, good side down. Perfectly nice.

Built-in bunks in East and West corners serve as "couches" and storage.

Spare, but functional furnishing works well. Floor is 13' wide vinyl, so no seams (IVC "Ferro 591" from Domo Earthtouch USA line)

Very nice – your thoughts on the toilet were helpful! Who makes the table in the last picture? Thanks, David

    Hi David,

That table is very old, probably 20+ years. I don’t think there are any identifying marks on it, and so I can’t point you in the right direction. It’s a nice design, folding up compactly.
